(Dallas, TX) -- Red Cross workers are fanned out across earthquake ravaged areas in Haiti providing critical services including medical care, distribution of food and clean drinking water and the creation of water sanitation systems.

Hospitals have been set up in Port-au-Prince and Carrefour to treat as many as 500-thousand survivors.

Mobile Health teams are also working from the streets of Port-au-Prince to treat 30-thousand survivors with less serious injuries.

The Red Cross has delivered 50 tons of medical supplies, tarps, blankets, hygiene items and kitchen sets by plane and truck, and more supplies, including temporary shelter kits, are headed to affected areas in coming days.

American Red Cross officials say U.S. donors have given 112-million-dollars to the Haiti relief efforts so far, and those donations will be used to pay for essential services and long-term recovery projects.
